Strategic Plan 2014:
We were able to look back over the year and see what amazing fabulous stupendous things we did. Also in the light of that, and some shifts in priorities for other groups and public policy, we have revised our strategic plan. You’ll see that space is no longer a big focus due to the results of our members survey and as there are now many other groups working to this end. We will however remain connected with those groups. Here is a summary of our Strategic Plan (more details will come through your subscription to this website):
1. Opportunity:
- 1.1 Mentorships & Professional Development
- 1.2 Access to knowledge and resources
- 1.3 Promote and Showcase our artists/region
- 1.4 Networking
- 1.5 Events
2. Connection:
- 2.1 With Members
- 2.2 With Arts Industry
- 2.3 With Business
- 2.4 With Government
- 2.5 With Communities (inclusive of those at disadvantage)
3. Governance:
- 3.1 Marketing
- 3.2 Membership
- 3.3 Financial
- 3.4 Communications
- 3.5 Organisational Planning & Structure
4. Advocacy:
- 4.1 Community Engagement
- 4.2 Building Audiences
- 4.3 Knowledge Resource
- 4.4 Regional Arts Practice
Committee Members 2014:
This month we say ‘see ya’ to Erin McCuskey who has been our vice of late. She has been around the traps longer than she cares to say, and has been a great support to BAA over the past two years. Erin made the running on establishing our website, enews, online database, communications structuring and a fair bit o fun. A fair innings she reckons and she is making room for others to give a little. Thanks Erin. Her company Yum Studio will continue to provide web hosting in return for organisational membership.
We also welcome new members Stuart Bates as the new Membership Officer, Haydn Smith as new member (well old new, but still shiney shiney). Will you be our next newie? We are always on the look out for skilled folks to join the committee, and the actions groups, so if you think you can commit some time and energy to BAA, we would love to have you on board. We are specifically looking for a President to compliment the already fabulous group on board. A two year commitment is preferable to support continuity and stability for such a still young organization.
Thanks to you and you and you
It has been a wonderful year which has seen lots of events, relationship building, a bedding down of ArtsAtlas, funding and our first tipple at auspicing artists… So thanks for the push to be better, we have tried our guts out, now its time to led from in front and bring us your ideas, wants and needs, then stand with us to make it happen.
Thanks to all our members, artists, performers, filmmakers, writers et al who contributed to making ArtSparks and ArtSig our signature events.
Thanks also to our really hard working crew behind the events & communications sub-committee: Erin McCuskey, Amy Tsilemanis, Kiri Smart, Barry Breen, Barry Wemyss, Jannette Wotherspoon, Jeff Harbick, Linda Franklin, Bernie Dillon. Thanks also to those who trooped on with spaces for a while: Haydn Smith, Lucinda Horrocks, Ailsa Brackley du Bois, Dawn Whitehand, Margie Balazic.
