Art Bus Trip

  • by

Another great event is happening in Ballarat on June 27th!

We love featuring our local artists, so this one is not to be missed!

Book now for the next BAA Artbus – travelling from Ballarat via Delacombe to Buninyong and meeting arts people who are involved with telling stories in many different ways.

We start at 2pm at the Civic Hall, meeting two artists in residence there – Pauline O’Shannessy-Dowling and Linda Franklin.

Then the bus takes us to the studio of the wonderful Tamara Bekier. Her story, of being taken from her home in Russia and ending up training as an artist in Ballarat, is reflected in her work. And she has written her story too.

Then it’s off to Buninyong Brewery where we meet Mark Hill, an artist who specialises in fantasy drawings for gaming, and in devising games.

After home-made soup and bread, wine and whatever, we settle down to a good yarn with Irish storyteller, Sean MacDermott. His father too was a Celtic bardic “seanchai” (pronounced “shan – e – key”) – I hope that’s right!

Then the bus takes us back to the Civic Hall.

The cost is a small $30 (or $20 for paid-up BAA members – bring your card) or $10 for under 16 yr olds. It includes bus, food, drinks, wine etc.
